How Spiritual Are You, Really?

Let’s play a quick game. Don’t take it too seriously - unless you score over 300 points, in which case, please float off into the next dimension. 😉

Ready? Answer YES or NO:

  1. Do you practice yoga?

  2. Do you meditate?

  3. Do you light incense sticks?

  4. Do you consult Angel or Oracle cards?

  5. Do you eat lentils or chickpeas (willingly)?

  6. Do you own crystals?

  7. Do you read your horoscope?

  8. Do you pray?

  9. Do you only buy biodegradable or natural products?

  10. Do you read the Bible, spiritual texts, or self-help books?

  11. Do you practice loving-kindness every day?

  12. Are you happy and at peace 24/7?

  13. Do you love others, no matter how horrid they are to you?

Scoring:

  • Questions 1 - 10: YES = 1 point . NO = 0

  • Questions 11 - 13: YES = 100 points each (yep, really) . NO = 0

Now total your score:

  • Under 10? You’re clearly not spiritual 😜

  • Over 300? Congratulations, you’re a living saint (or possibly a lying saint) 😂

Okay, okay - let’s be real…

This little quiz is just for fun. It’s not a true measure of how evolved you are (but you probably knew that). Still, it does highlight something important: being spiritual isn’t about how much you meditate, how often you go to church, how many incense sticks you burn or how many downward dogs you can do before breakfast.

You can eat kale chips, chant OM, carry a crystal in every pocket, and still lose it in a traffic jam or scream when the Wi-Fi goes down.

Spirituality has become a bit of a lifestyle trend - with Buddha statues in garden centres, yoga retreats in Bali, and filtered selfies with rainbows.

The word "spiritual" comes from the Latin word spiritus, meaning "breath," "soul," or "vigor," which also gives us the English word "spirit"Spirituality, therefore, is simply your natural life force moving through you, expressing its essence in the way you live and share yourself with the world.

That essence in its purest form is your LOVE and your PASSION!

So being spiritual isn’t something you find, perform, learn, become or even buy. It’s something you already are at your core.

You can be just as spiritual in a traffic jam as you are on a mountaintop. You can feel a natural life force of love and joy flowing through you -  even when the dog’s eating the sofa or when the kids are flicking cereal at each other!

And yes, that’s easier said than done.True spirituality isn’t always polished or Instagram-worthy. It’s choosing peace over panic, compassion over criticism, trust over control. It’s embodying love in action, rather than getting caught in the ego’s rants and judgments.

And some days, that’s the hardest thing in the world to do.That’s why many people give up. They pour a glass of wine instead. (It’s quicker, after all.)

But still… something deeper inside us always calls us back.We feel it when we’re moved by a piece of music, when we watch a sunset, or when we witness the miracle of new life. It’s that invisible thread pulling us toward connection, grace, beauty, truth... LOVE.

It whispers through moments of stillness. It shows up in synchronicities. It moves us to tears for no reason at all. And when we truly listen - when we follow that thread - we remember who we really are.

We remember that we’re not just a robot and a human doing, we’re a vital spirit being. So if you're not practicing loving-kindness 24/7, or floating in a loving blissful state all day long, don’t worry.

You're not here to be perfect.

You're here to be real. To grow. To expand.

To experience the full, messy, magical ride of being human.

So here’s my message for you this month:

Stop trying to be spiritual.

Throw out the kale chips (unless you genuinely like them). Give away the self-help books (except for mine, obviously). Put down the angel cards for a while. You don’t need tools, props, or rituals to access something that already lives within you.

Just be.

Be kind. Be peaceful. Be joyful. Be passionate. Be compassionate. Be loving.

And yes - be frustrated, angry and sad too. But when you are, know that it’s only because you've forgotten - just for a moment - that at the core of it all, is your love.

And your love, my friend, is the only spiritual truth there is 💖
