Are You Noticing The Signs?

You'd think a major operation six months ago would have been enough of a sign for me to slow down and take life one step at a time.

Apparently... not. šŸ˜„

Because guess what?

I can't walk again!

Yesterday was one of those gloriousĀ days that reminds me why I love living by the beach. Blue skies, sparkling ocean, no-one around.

Life was good.

So I kicked off my shoes and was happily striding barefoot along the sand whilst thinking, planning, mulling.

Then…

Bang!

I’d tripped over a rock hidden beneath the sand.

I looked down... and all I could see was blood shooting out of my second toe.

On closer inspection, I realised my toenail next to my big toe had been ripped clean off.Ā

Oh... the pain!!

To make matters worse, I had no phone reception and no-one in sight. So there I was, hobbling along the beach, leaving what felt like a dramatic crime scene behind me, desperately trying to reach the next area where I had reception to call my partner to come and rescue me.

Finally home, and after I'dĀ cleaned it, bandaged it, I discovered something remarkable.

That one tiny missing toenail can bring your entire life to a standstill.

I couldn't walk.

I couldn't drive.

I could barely even stand!

I couldn't do any of the things I'd planned.

And yes... my first reaction was frustration.

"I don't have time for this!"

Sound familiar?

But after feeling sorry for myself for a little while (Ok, maybe for quite a while, I’m human, after all), I remembered something I often share with my clients.

Instead of asking...

"Why has this happened to me?"

I asked...

"What is this trying to show me?"

The answer arrived loud and clear.

Slow down.

Get out of your head.

Come back to your body.

Come back to this moment.

And today, despite my throbbing bleeding toe, that's exactly what I've done.

I've spent time loving being me again. I've actually tasted my food instead of gobbling it down while thinking about the next thing on my to-do list.

I've sat quietly in the garden watching butterflies drift past and birds wash themselves in the birdbath.

I’ve appreciated that I don’t live in a war zone or have a terminal illness.

And perhaps most importantly...

I've remembered to appreciate my body again.

Because while my mind was busy complaining about my toe...

My body wasn't complaining at all.

It was quietly getting on with the job of healing.

Right now while I write this, without me having to think about it, trillions of cells are repairing damaged tissue. Blood is clotting. New skin is forming. Eventually I'll have a spanking new nail!

My body knows exactly what to do.Ā

What an extraordinary miracle!

It reminded me that our bodies are constantly working for us - not against us.

Perhaps that's why I'm so passionate about the work I do, helping people heal by connecting to the wisdom within their body.

Not because every ache or injury has some mystical meaning.

But because every experience in life gives us an opportunity to become more aware of the truth.

Sometimes our greatest breakthroughs don't arrive because life is going perfectly.

Sometimes they arrive because life unexpectedly brings us to a halt.

So let me leave you with a question...

What has life been trying to show you lately?

Not necessarily through pain.

Perhaps through frustration.

A repeating pattern.

A constant trigger.

Or simply that quiet feeling that something isn’t quite right.

Whatever it is...

What if, instead of resisting it, or getting annoyed by it, you became curious? Or even better, see it as an opportunity?

Because beneath the noise of everyday life, beyond the fear, the overthinking, and the endless distractions, there is a quieter voice that never stops guiding you.

It speaks through your intuition.

Through your body.

Through synchronicities, feelings, and those gentle inner nudges you can't quite explain.

It has always been there.

Always communicating.

The question isn't whether it's speaking...

The question is whether you're listening.

Life will always bring challenges, unexpected detours,Ā and people who know exactly how to push our buttons! We can't always choose what happens around us, but we can choose how we respond.

The moment we shift our attention from the judgement in our minds back into our hearts - where life is miraculously unfoldingĀ - we reconnect with the peace, the clarity, the next step, and the wisdom that has been guiding us all along.

That choice is always available.

So today...

Will you keep ignoring the signs... or will you listen to them?
